Preparing for Presidents Day {Freebie}

Hi, friends! Happy Sunday :)

Since this school year coincided with an election year, we will not spend a lot of time on President’s Day next week. Still, we will throw in some small things here and there. When students finish a task early or we have a few spare moments, students check out the browsing box on the carpet. The browsing box is full of 20 or so books related to any topics we are learning about or upcoming holidays. Our friends LOVE looking through the browsing box with their friends and they would stay there all morning if we let them.

 Last week, Browsing Box contained books about space, as well as, Three Little Pig books. This week, we’ll add Valentine and Presidents Day books. Here are some of the ones I picked up at the public library this afternoon! (click on the pictures to check them out) One of my favorites is Abe Crosses a Creek. Have you read it before?

Also, Wednesday of this week we’ll introduce 10 new math stations. Yesterday, I printed and laminated (sitting working on cutting) Stars and Stripes: Math Statements. It is a true/false sort using number words and place value. It should be nice challenge for students. Click here or the picture below to grab it for free! If you download it, I would love your feedback.

Also, here was my first freebie on TPT. A set of 6 Symbols of America posters.

It has been a crazy few weeks between winter weather and SO many holidays/special events. I hope you all have a fantastic  and not-too-crazy Valentine’s/Presidents Day Week J

Happy Sunday!

P.S. Also, can I get a moment of silence for lamination cutting? With new math centers going in this week, IT STANDS UP ON ITS OWN. Oh, my.

  3. I love to laminate, but that cutting...that part I do not love. You sure have your work cut out for you. Just remember how glad you will be when it is done and you have such great activities. :)

  5. I'm the queen of laminating too. I always call myself the lamination queen. I've never tried to make mine stand up, but I'm sure they would too. Don't you hate the cutting though?
    Great freebie! Can't wait to use it next week.
